Tour to Sintra is the second most popular after the Lisbon’s.
Despite its proximity to Lisbon, Sintra has managed to preserve its historic individuality and has won a legendary reference in Portuguese culture. Sintra has its own microclimate, an eclectic architecture, influenced by many different architectural styles, lots of greenery and a relaxed atmosphere. The city is surrounded by a low mountain range with a scattering of boulders.
We invite you to visit the mystical Quinta da Regaleira with its beautiful garden, lakes, caves and underground labyrinths concealing mysterious meanings from masonry and esoteric symbols.
In a Full Day option we provide transportation to the fabulous and colorful the Pena Palace, which is one of the “7 Wonders of Portugal” and give free time to visit it.
After that, we will show you the old part of Sintra called “the Vila” including the National Palace (from de outside). In Sintra you can taste Port Wine, have a lunch and buy authentic souvenirs. We’ll also make a stop at the famous family confectionery to try “queijadas de Sintra” (traditional cheesecake).
After Sintra we’ll zig-zag our way downhill through small villages and eucalyptus groves until Cape Roca – the westernmost point of Europe. Next we’ll visit the Guincho beach – known to be one of the best spots for the practice of surf. The way back to Lisbon will go through the respectable resort of Cascais and Estoril.
Note: Lunch, admission to museums and parks not included in the price.
