General
Our group tour to the sunny province of ALENTEJO departs from Lisbon, crosses the “singing” suspension BRIDGE “25TH OF APRIL” and heads deep into the peaceful Alentejo region. ALENTEJO is rich in charming vineyards, cork oaks and olive groves. The capital of the region, the city of ÉVORA, is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The city has preserved the Roman temple (unique in the entire country), the Chapel of Bones, the Cathedral of Évora and, of cause, the leisurely lifestyle of this region.
We will visit the oldest CROMLECH in the Southern Europe, which is called “Almendres” and is more than 7000 years old.
Besides, we offer to visit the tiny walled town of MONSARAZ, lost near the Spanish border, where you will enjoy the beautiful views over the valley with lakes and can taste rich region wines at the degustation shop. OR, instead of Monsaraz, you can visit ONE OF THE BEST WINE PRODUCERS IN THE ALENTEJO region which has prepared for you in the cellars a wine tasting of different wines with traditional “tapas” – cheese, sausages, olives and bread.
The route back to Lisbon is through the bridge “VASCO DA GAMA” with its 17 km of beautiful water scenery!
Note: Lunch, admission to museums and parks not included in the price.
